  221.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  222.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  223.  files in a window.  After the window is
  224.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  225.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  226.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  227.  process the tagged files.

  230.  This option will allow you to add or
  231.  update the compressed file comments.

  233. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  234.  This option will delete all files that
  235.  are contained in the compressed file
  236.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  237.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  239. *alte  !!extract list!!
  240.  This option allow you to specify which
  241.  files to extract from the compressed
  242.  file. You may specify more the one
  243.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  244.  cards are allowed.
  245.  
  246. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  247.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  248.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  249.  of files in a window.  After the window
  250.  is displayed you tag the files to
  251.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  252.  After all files have been tagged press
  253.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  254.  files.
  255.  
  256. *altg   !!search for string!!
  257.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  258.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  259.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  260.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  261.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  262.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  263.  completed to results will be listed on the
  264.  screen.
  265.  
  266. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  267.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  268.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  269.  of files in a window.  After the window
  270.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  271.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  272.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  273.  key to process the tagged files.
  274.  
  275. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  276.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  277.  files from the compressed file into the
  278.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  279.  via the ALT-P command.
  280.  
  281. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  282.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  283.  and directory of where any extracted files
  284.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  285.  follows:
  286.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  287.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  288.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  289.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  290.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the enter
  291.  key.
  292.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  293.  use it's floating extract location
  294.  logic.
  295.  
  296. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  297.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  298.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  299.  the window pops up enter the first
  300.  character of the file you wish to find.
  301.  The display will be repositioned to the
  302.  first file in the list that starts with
  303.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  304.  stored in random order sort the list
  305.  first)
  306.  
  307. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  308.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  309.  the tagged file display line at the
  310.  bottom of the screen.
  311.  
  312. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  313.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  314.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  315.  of files in a window.  After the window
  316.  is displayed you tag the files to
  317.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  318.  After all files have been tagged press
  319.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  320.  files.
  321.  
  322. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  323.  This option will display the master
  324.  comment record and the file comment
  325.  records for the selected compressed
  326.  file.
  327.  
  328. *altx  !!extract all!!
  329.  This option will extract ALL files from
  330.  the compressed file into the current
  331.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  332.  the ALT-P command.
  333.  
  334. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  335.  This option allows run a program against
  336.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  337.  to enter the program name to run, the
  338.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  339.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  340.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  341.  to pause after each execution of your
  342.  program.
  343.  
  344. *altz  !!virus check!!
  345.  This option will check files to see if they
  346.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  347.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  348.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  349.  and have used the configuration program to
  350.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  352.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  353.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  355. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  356.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  357.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  358.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  359.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  360.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  361.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  362.  compressed file contents screen.
  363.  
  364. *c  !!create-new!!
  365.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  366.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  367.  to enter the
  368.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  369.  compressed file to create, whether you
  370.  want to add or move files into the new
  371.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  372.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  373.  new compressed file.
  374.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  375.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  376.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  377.  PAK files!!!!!
  378.  
  379.  You will also be asked if you want to
  380.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  381.  the entered file spec as is.
  382.  
  383.  If the compression program you choose
  384.  supports saving path information you will
  385.  also be asked if you want to save
  386.  directory information, and if you want to
  387.  recurse the directory tree.
  388.  
  389.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  390.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  391.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  392.  information that can be stored inside the
  393.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  394.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  395.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  396.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)

  398.  
  399. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  400.  This option will delete all tagged files
  401.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  402.  asked to verify the delete before the
  403.  files are actually deleted from the
  404.  compressed file.
  405.  
  406. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  407.  This option will extract all tagged
  408.  files from the compressed file.
  409.  
  410. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  411.  This option will activate the alternate
  412.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  413.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  414.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  415.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  416.  
  417. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  418.  This option will set the compressed
  419.  file's time and date to the time and
  420.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  421.  the compressed file.
  422.  
  423. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  424.  This option will untag all currently
  425.  tagged files.
  426.  
  427. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  428.  This option will tag all files in the
  429.  currently displayed window.
  430.  
  431. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  432.  This option will convert a self
  433.  extracting file back to its native
  434.  compressed file format. The self
  435.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  436.  The normal compressed file will be
  437.  built on the same drive and directory
  438.  where self extracting file is found.
  439.  
  440. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  441.  This option allows you to copy all
  442.  tagged files from the current compressed
  443.  file into another compressed file.  The
  444.  target compressed file may be any
  445.  currently supported format.
  446.  
  447. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  448.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  449.  drop you off into disk and directory
  450.  that is specified as the extract
  451.  location.
  452.  
  453. *d  !!delete one file!!
  454.  This option will delete the currently
  455.  highlighted file from the compressed
  456.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  457.  delete before the delete is actually
  458.  done.
  459.  
  460. *e  !!extract one file!!
  461.  This option will extract the currently
  462.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  463.  drive and directory, or the
  464.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  465.  the ALT-P command.
  466.  
  467. *f      !!freshen!!
  468.  Using this option you can specify the
  469.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  470.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  471.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  472.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  473.  extensions.
  474.  
  475. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  476.  This option will temporarily exit to
  477.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  478.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  479.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  480.  the return key.
  481.  
  482. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  483.  This option will temporarily exit to
  484.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  485.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  486.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  487.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  488.  
  489. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  490.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  491.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  492.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  493.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  494.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  495.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  496.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  497.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  498.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  499.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  500.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  501.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  502.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  503.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  504.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  505.  
  506. *f8  !!edit!!
  507.  This option will allow you to edit a
  508.  file in the compressed file.  This
  509.  option will only work if you specified
  510.  an editor to use when you configured
  511.  compressedPER.
  512.  
  513. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  514.  Using this option you can specify how
  515.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  516.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  517.  Extension, Date, Size, or Unsorted.
  518.  
  519. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  520.  This option will allow you to set the
  521.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  522.  programs.  When you set the compression
  523.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  524.  change it again.
  525.  
  526.  
  527. *g  !!password!!
  528.  This option allows you to specify the password
  529.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  530.  compression program does not support passwords
  531.  an error window will appear informing you that
  532.  the option is not supported.
  533.  
  534. *i  !!show info!!
  535.  This option will show information about
  536.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  537.  files in file, total size of all files,
  538.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  539.  
  540. *m     !!mode!!
  541.  Using this option you can specify the
  542.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  543.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  544.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  545.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  546.  extensions.
  547.  
  548. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  549.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  550.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  551.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  552.  the compressed display heading line.
  553.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  554.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  555.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  556.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  557.  
  558. *p  !!path options!!
  559.  This option allows you to specify if you
  560.  want to save and/or use path information
  561.  when working with compressed files.
  562.  
  563. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  564.  This option will immediately exit
  565.  SHEZ.
  566.  
  567. *r  !!run a file!!
  568.  This option will extract and run the
  569.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  570.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  571.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  572.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  573.  deleted.
  574.  
  575. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  576.  This option allows you to add and or
  577.  update the comment records associated
  578.  with the currently highlighted file.
  579.  
  580. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  581.  This option allows you to add and or
  582.  update the comment records assocaited
  583.  with each file in the compressed file.
  584.  
  585. *t  !!test compressed!!
  586.  This option will test the integrity of
  587.  the compressed file.
  588.  
  589. *u       !!update!!
  590.  Using this option you can specify the
  591.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  592.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  593.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  594.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  595.  extensions.
  596.  
  597. *v  !!view!!
  598.  This option will allow you to view the
  599.  contents of a file in the compressed
  600.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  601.  to view the file.
  602.  
  603. *z  !!mask!!
  604.  This option allows you to specify a file
  605.  mask to be used when displaying the
  606.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  607.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  608.  only the files having an extension of C
  609.  will be displayed on the screen.
  610.  
  611. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  612.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  613.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  614.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  615.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  616.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  617.  
  618. *maltu !!update/add 4dos!!
  619.  This option allows you to update/add
  620.  NDOS/4DOS file descriptions to the
  621.  highlighted file.
  622.  This option only functions if you
  623.  are running under NDOS/4DOS.
  624.  
  625. *mtab !!open second file window!!
  626.  When the DOS directory window is
  627.  displayed, pressing the TAB key will
  628.  open a secondary directory display
  629.  window.  You may view other directories
  630.  and/or drives while this window is
  631.  open.  Pressing the TAB key again is
  632.  the only way to close the secondary
  633.  display window.
  634.  
  635. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  636.  This option will invoke the editor that
  637.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  638.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  639.  the editor.
  640.  
  641. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  642.  This option will delete all files that
  643.  have been tagged in the file window.
